Do you suffer from panic attacks? Do they stop you from living your life fully?

A panic attack can appear all of a sudden, in any situation, for seemingly no reason. That unpredictability is what makes them so hard to live with — and over time, they can spread to more and more areas of your life.

"You can live in fear of when and where the next one will happen — or you can do something about it."

Hypnotherapy is an effective way to untrain your mind from going into alert mode, and gently teach it to remain calm again in everyday situations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Remain calm — yes, I know it's easier said than done. But here's what can help in the moment:

  • Focus outward. Shift your attention to something outside your body — an object, a sound, anything around you. Hold that focus for a few minutes.
  • Breathe slowly. Inhale gently through your nose, then exhale slowly through your nose. Repeat for a few minutes until you feel calmer.

If panic attacks keep recurring, it's worth speaking to a specialist.

There's rarely one single cause. What we do know is that panic attacks can occur at any point in life. Most likely, your nervous system — which is responsible for protecting you from danger — has become dysregulated, and now triggers itself in random, safe moments. This puts you into alert mode and creates the urge to escape, even when there's no real threat.

Yes. Because panic attacks are triggered by the mind in situations that are objectively safe, hypnotherapy can work directly with the subconscious to retrain that response. Rather than suppressing panic, we help your mind learn — at a deep level — that everyday situations don't require an alarm response.

As soon as possible. It is possible to live with panic attacks — but what's characteristic about them is that they tend to spread. A person who had their first panic attack on a train may later find them triggering in lifts, crowded spaces, or other enclosed environments. The sooner you address them, the sooner your life can get back to normal.
