Hypnosis

Hypnosis, I believe that most of us at least once in their lifetime heard this word. But what does it mean? Well, I like to think of it as a programming language for our subconscious. You see, many of our daily life activities run without our conscious knowledge, we just do things without realising it. Only when someone points that out to us, we have to stop and analyse what we just did to be able to describe it. It’s like doing something on autopilot. That’s why I like to call it a program. Once it’s started, we don’t think much about it. There are good programs, and there are not so productive programs that we run. Some of these programs describe how we think, others how we behave and relate to others. Whether we know it or don’t we learnt them throughout our life, picking our behaviours and beliefs from our environment at different age. And they stick with us without us even realising. Only when there is some destructive pattern, which becomes very obvious to us and maybe close ones, we become aware of it and try to do something about it. Hypnosis is very good in such scenarios, it allows us to “look under the hood” of such program, make some tweaks and move on in life with new, adjusted software. It’s like updating app on your phone.

FAQ

Many people heard about hypnosis, but unfortunately only from movies. Word Hypnosis comes from Greek word ‘Hypnos’ – which means sleep. And this is how it feels for many of us. However, I have met a variety of experiences from light, daydream – like feeling to falling into a deep sleep for the time of hypnosis. Some think that the depth of trance is very important, the deeper we go the more effective it becomes, but that is not true, a skilled therapist prepares a script which resonates with client and subconscious knows exactly what to do.

Our behaviours, habits or beliefs are like programs that our subconscious uses to run our lives. And through hypnosis we can alter them. If you have some undesired behaviour which you don’t like ie: eating late at night, sabotaging your own efforts, being afraid to talk to others, or even want to improve your focus when learning or perform better at work, with hypnosis we can give new instructions that will help you to behave in a way which you prefer.

Yes, meditation is very similar to hypnosis in a few ways. From technical point of view in both cases we calm our mind and body, our brain waves go into Alpha. The main difference is that with hypnosis, prior to session we agree on the clear goal which we want to work towards. And after getting to Alpha state hypnotising person gives clear instructions to your subconscious mind to work in more desired way.
